EXECUTIVE SECRETARY OF THE LAKE VICTORIA FISHERIES ORGANIZATION (LVFO)

1. BACKGROUND 
The Government of the United Republic of Tanzania through the Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries is seeking to recruit a Tanzanian national to fill the position of Executive Secretary of LVFO. The Organization which was established vide the Convention in 1994 by the then three EAC Partner States (Kenya. Tanzania and Uganda) is mandated to foster cooperation among the Partner States in the development and management of the fisheries of Lake Victoria. As well as to coordinate the management and development of fisheries and aquaculture in the Community. It is also registered as a Regional Fisheries Management
Organization under the UN Charter of the Food and Agriculture Organization (CAP 102). The Executive Secretary. shall be responsible for all the activities associated with the Organization in accordance with the policy and decisions adopted by the Sectoral Council of Ministers and under the guidance of the Policy Steering Coordination Committee. as stipulated in Article X of the LVFO convention: - 

2. PURPOSE OF THE JOB: 
Foster cooperation and harmonize national measures among the Contracting Parties for the sustainable utilization of the fisheries and aquaculture resources of the EAC water bodies. 

3. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
i. The Executive Secretary shall be the Chief Executive and legal representative of the Organization. He shall direct the work of the Organization in accordance with the policy and decisions adopted by the Sectoral of Ministers and under the guidance of the Coordination Committee. 
ii. The Executive Secretary shall, through the Senior Officials and Coordination Committee, submit to the Sectoral Council of Ministers at each regular session. a. Report on the work of the Organization. as well as the audited accounts; and b. Draft programme of work and a draft budget of the Organization. 

iii. The Executive Secretary shall. organize the sessions of the Sectoral Council of Ministers, the Coordination Committee. He shall provide the secretariat for such sessions and meetings and shall participate in them. 

iv. The mandate of the Deputy Executive Secretary shall be of five years, non-renewable. 
v. Harmonization of fisheries and aquaculture policies and regulations; 
vi. Coordination of fisheries research and management; 
vii. Promotion of sustainable fisheries resources for sustainable economic and social benefits: 

4. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE LVFO 
is an equal opportunity employer. A successful candidate must be a holder of the following minimum qualifications: 
A MSc holder in the field of Fisheries/Aquatic Sciences or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution; 
• Ten (10) years' experience in scientific research of which three (3) years must be at the senior managerial position; 
• Must have at least five first authored scientific publications in the respective field; 
• Must have the ability to provide dynamic management and leadership required to successfully run an organization with diverse employees 
• Demonstrate extensive research experience with strong emphasis on fisheries management. 

Age: The candidate should not be more than 55 years

(a) Salary: Attractive remuneration and benefit package in accordance with LVFO. 
(b) Contract Terms: Five years contract non-renewable

MSc Scholarships for International Students at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev in Israel, 2018


The Faculty of Engineering Sciences is inviting applications from international students that have completed their Bachelor’s Degree at an accredited University abroad. The fellowship is for 2 years (4 semesters) open to all the departments and units at the Faculty of Engineering Sciences.
The student will receive a stipend of about 3500 NIS to help cover their living expenses.
Ben-Gurion University of the Negev (BGU) is a public research university in Beersheba, Israel. The Ben-Gurion University of the Negev has five campuses: the Marcus Family Campus, Beer Sheva; the David Bergmann Campus, Beer Sheva; the David Tuviyahu Campus, Beer Sheva; the Sede Boqer Campus, and Eilat Campus.

The candidate should have a very good command of English language. Therefore, the application should be written in English.

TEMPORARY CREDIT CLERKS - 20 POSITIONS
TPB Bank PLC seeks to appoint dedicated, self-motivated and highly organized Temporary Credit Clerks (20 positions) to join the Directorate of Retail Business Banking team for six months .

POSITION OBJECTIVE 
1. To assist the Branch Manager and Credit/Relationship Officers in acquiring of profitable new customers for the loans segment trough the acquisition, development and maintenance of high quality advisory relationships, that includes effective consultative personal selling and creative structuring of financial solutions. 
2. To assist the Branch Manager and Credit/Relationship Officer in liaising with centralized employers for matters related to personal loans.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 
i. To record all inward and outward mails/loans application forms from employers, and dispatch loan application forms to employers for guarantees. 
ii. To scrutinize loan applications and ensure that all pre-disbursement conditions are fulfilled before sent to superiors for approvals 
iii. To maintain borrowers’ files brought to Head Office for approvals 
iv. To maintain system database for all approved loans at branches, advise the respective branches via reliable approved means of communication and maintain records of the respective approvals for reference and audit trail. 


v. To assist the Branch Manager and Credit/Relationship Officers in liaising with centralized employers for prompt follow up of due installment deductions from employers. 
vi. To assist branches in follow up with employers for collection of cheques and establishment of reasons for non-repayment 
vii. To attend any other duties as may be assigned by your superiors.

EXPERIENCE AND KNOW LEDGE REQUIRED

Education: 
Ordinary Diploma or above in Banking, Economics, Commerce, Business Administration, Finance or Accounting from any recognized University or its equivalent

Position Summary:  
The Incumbent will carry out non-medical duties such as moving and transporting patients, stocking supplies, and keeping wards tidy. S/he will perform routine support and clinical tasks to keep the offices of physicians and other health practitioners running smoothly. 

Qualifications and Experience:
  • Holder of Ordinary/Advanced secondary school certificate (CSEE) 
  • At least One (1) year’ working Experience in related field 
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Carry out general cleaning of the wards and its surroundings: Clean bathtub, toilet, sink, walls, mirrors, tiles, counters, and floor surfaces using cloths, mops, sponges, brushes, and/or cleaning agents by extending arms over head, bending and stooping
  • Strip and make beds, changing bed linens, which may require lifting bedspreads; dust all furniture, pictures, drawers, window ledges, and shelves thoroughly
  • Transport patients in wheelchairs or on movable beds around the hospital 
  •  Move medical equipment between wards, departments and theatres 
  • Maintain stocks of clean clothing and linen for patents 
  • Remove soiled clothing and linen items for cleaning 
  • Lift and turn patients 
  • Keep ward areas tidy throughout the shift 
  • Accompany patients who are ready to be discharged to a waiting area 
  • Transport diagnostic images, patient files and pharmacy items between wards and departments. 
  • Adhere to cleaning procedures and instructions for use of cleaning agents.
  • Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
  • Perform any other job related duties as assigned

Ophthalmic Nursing Officer

Position Summary: 
The incumbent will be responsible for provision holistic ophthalmic nursing services to both inpatient and out patients within the hospital.


Qualifications and Experience:
  • Holder of Bachelor degree or equivalent in Nursing from accredited and recognized Nursing institution.
  • Must be registered with Tanzania Nursing and Midwifery Council 
  • At least five (5) years working experience in a busy eye hospital/ Clinic setup.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Arrange and submit weekly ward work schedules and plan daily duties and responsibilities for each staff under their supervision.
Convene eye ward meetings and attend monthly hospital meetings.
Participate in camp eye health surveys/campaigns
Maintain equipment in good working condition and submit regular inventory reports of the same.
Maintain drug registers and oversee drug consumption within the ward and clinic.
Ensure that all admissions, discharges, transfers and deaths are properly documented as they occur.
Report any significant changes in operations to the senior ophthalmologist.
Maintain nursing supplies inventory by studying usage reports; identifying trends; anticipating needed supplies; approving requisitions and cost allocations.
