Opened in 2008, Orkeeswa School is located in an under-served Maasai
community in the Monduli Hills of northern Tanzania. By providing free
education within the village, Orkeeswa offers the only opportunity for
most of our students to continue education past the primary level.

Qualifications
i. Citizen of Tanzania
ii. Bachelor of Education or equivalent from an accredited university
iii. Proficiency in spoken and written English
iv. A team player and ability to collaborate with school leaders
v. Candidates need to be patient, flexible, and work independently
vi. Candidates should have a desire to improve and seek performance feedback from Heads of Departments
Classroom teaching Responsibilities and Expectations:
i. Prepare lessons in accordance with the NECTA curriculum
ii. Familiarize themselves with the NECTA examinations and prepare the students thoroughly.
iii. Complete Schemes of Work at the beginning of the year, maintain their Subject Log Books and write Lesson Plans for every lesson. These should be handed to the Headmaster every Friday for signing and stamping.
iv. Prepare lessons which are predominantly student centered and involve active learning.
v. Prepare their own teaching materials and use them effectively within the classroom.
Responsibilities and Expectations of providing Extra Support:
i. Work with individual students during their non teaching time as required.
ii. Provide small group opportunities for those students who need extra support or would benefit from an enrichment programme – after school and during appropriate times within the timetable.
iii. Prepare and deliver classes on Saturdays and during school holidays as required.
Extra-Curricular/Administrative Responsibilities:
i. Participate fully in after school activities as directed by the Activities Coordinator.
ii. Participate in the running of Clubs as directed by the Activities Coordinator.
iii. Attend school functions as required.
iv. Represent the school at meetings organized by the District, Region or Zone as required.
