Job Title: Tool Pusher and Dump Truck Operator Trainee (Posts 106)

Report to: Surface Mine Instructor

Projects: NGWALA GOLD MINE (NGM)

Job Location: Chunya Mbeya

 Responsibilities:

Non experienced Tool Pusher and Dump Truck operator Trainees is required for Gold ore project at New Gwala Gold Mining (NGGM) Songwe Region. Operate heavy equipment in a safe and effective manner in order to minimize the risk of injury, property damage or loss of life

Job Descriptions: 

• Comply with Health, Safety, Loss Prevention and Environmental requirements and standards
• Competently and safely operate Dump Trucks and Rigs with some experience in haul load driving, dumping and parking techniques
• Conduct step by step pre-start checks and fault reporting
• Operate truck controls, instruments, gauges and their functions
• Perform startup functional tests; must have knowledge and experience on startup and shutdown procedures
• The duties and responsibilities listed above are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all-inclusive
• To wash machine as assigned by your supervisor on site

 Qualification and Requirements: 

• Minimum of  ‘O’ & ‘A’ Level, certificate or any equivalent qualification
• Must possess basic knowledge on equipment and operator safety
• Ability to work in a busy environment whilst ensuring the highest standards of accuracy
• Must be flexible towards working hours
• Must display willingness to learn new skills

Must have basic knowledge on truck operating techniques with regards to:

• General driving competency
• Ability to spot with the truck to the excavator and taking load
• Haul road driving techniques
• Dumping and parking techniques

·         Enjoy practical and manual activities

·         Aptitude for mechanics and able to handle machinery

·         Physically fit

·         Able to work as part of a team

·         Willing to work in remote areas under difficult conditions

·         Able to record details accurately

·         Clean police record

·         Be 18 years old (as it is a legal requirement on most mine and quarry sites)

·         Have a drug and alcohol clearance

·         Pass a medical examination.

Working Conditions:

The role will be based on a 42/14 roster; applicants MUST be resident of Mbeya and Songwe Region, and no previous experience is needed for this role.
