Dodoma Urban Water Supply and Sanitation Authority (DUWASA) was established under section 3(1) of Cap. 272 of 1997 as repealed by section 60 of Water supply and Sanitation Act No. 12 of 2009. DUWASA is charged with the overall responsibility of operations and management of water supply and sanitation services in Dodoma urban within the Municipality.

METER READER II (6 Posts)
Required Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)
Holder of Form IV with Trade Test II/I in Plumbing/ Pipe fitter or equivalent qualification with three years' work experience in plumbing works
Responsibilities:
- Reads all meters allocated to them by the Section Head.
- Prepares meter reading and customer bills distribution report for their area.
- Cleans clogged water meters and ensure that all meters are in running condition all the time. .
- Checks and ensures that all meters in the zone are in working condition.
- Follows up debts from customers that have not paid their bills.
- Dispatches customers' monthly water bills on time.
- Reports customer's water consumption trends as related to its surroundings.
- Performs any other duties as may be assigned by Supervisor.
DRIVER CUM OPERATOR II (1 Post)
Required Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)
Possession of Form IV Secondary School
Education and Class C valid driving license and a trade test III or advanced drivers certificate grade III from a recognized institution like VETA/NIT, with not less than three years driving experience.
Responsibilities:
- Operate heavy equipment like cranes, Backhoe and other related equipment.
- Operate the equipment in the right direction and angles to prevent accidents and damage of property.
- Ensure and manage the machines or equipment in a safe and secure way.
- Perform periodical safety, maintenance or servicing checks to ensure proper functioning of the equipment.
- Perform minor repair works during functioning problems
- Drive and control the equipment
- Perform road work, excavation work, lifting work, etc.
- Maintain proper coordination and cooperation with the road and transport system while driving/working, so that the normal activities are not disrupted.
- Work in adherence to safe practices, procedures, work site or traffic laws.
- Performs any other duties related to the above assigned by superiors
DRIVER 3POSTS
Required Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)
Possession of Form IV Secondary School Education and valid driving license with Class C's and D and a trade test III or advanced drivers certificate grade III from a recognized institution like VETA/NIT, with not less than three years driving experience.
Responsibilities:
- Checks vehicle every morning to ensure it is fit to be driven before driving.
- Drives vehicle safely taking into account traffic laws, safety of passengers and other road users and value of the vehicle.
- Parks vehicle at safe locations to ensure it is not stolen or vandalized.
- Takes passengers and language where they are intended.
- Completes logbook regularly for effective control of running costs of the vehicle.
- Keeps record of vehicle movements, distance covered within its logbook.
- Performs any other duties related to the above assigned by superiors
PUMP MECHANICS II (1 Post)
Required Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and ity Abilities)
Form IV with Trade Test Grade III in Pump ld Mechanics or equivalent qualification with at three. in years experience in the operation and maintenance of water pumps
Responsibilities:
- Carries out maintenance and repair of water pumps.
- Keeps record of maintenance and repair work done.
- Keeps record of all pumps and their operating conditions.
- Carries out regular inspection of water pumps and prepares report on the operating condition 9 of the pumps.
- Carries out Service of operating and standby I r pumps according to the maintenance schedule. y
- Performs any other related duties as may be assigned by Supervisor
LABORATORY ARTISAN II (1 POST)
Required Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities) Holder of Certificate in Water Laboratory Technology or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution with at least one year relevant experience in water treatment and good knowledge of ICT application skills
Responsibilities
- Carries out water sample tests every day in order to establish the types and quantities of water treatment.
- Carries out analysis of raw water and treated water.
- Collects water samples at different parts of the water treatment for analysis and recording.
- Ensures that the right volume and quality of water is received from pumping station.
- Ensuring that the right dose of chlorine is administered in the water sumps at Intervals.
- Prepares list of chemicals and reagents required for laboratory investigations.
- Monitors water quality and quantity from all reservoirs and other water sources, and water distribution systems and ensures compliance with the prescribed- Tanzania standards for drinking water.
- Performs any other duties relevant to the scope of work as may be assigned by Production Engineer
FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION MANAGER ( 1 Post)
Required Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)
Holder of a Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance or equivalent qualification plus CPA (T) with relevant working experience of not less than twelve years three of which in senior position. Knowledge of Computer application skills, Risk Management and Tanzania Labor laws will be an added advantage.
Responsibilities
- Manages the financial, human resources and Administrative functions of the authority
- Oversees the human resources functions of DUWASA in 'terms of recruitment,' remuneration, appraisals, promotions, staff welfare, staff development, terminations, benefits and disciplinary matters.
- Ensures that DUWASA property is properly insured against all types of perils, including, fire, burglary, physical and financial loss, etc.
- Ensures that DUWASA meets the requirements of external auditors on an annual basis.
- Provides financial advice to the Managing Director and ensures that the financial regulations of the Authority are strictly adhered to.
- Sets up and maintains an accounting system of recording income and expenditure accruing to the Authority.
- Initiates and supervises the preparation of financial plans and budgets and their submission to the board.
8 Conducts open performance review and appraisal of subordinates and gives feedback. - Performs any other related duties as assigned by the Managing Director.
