HESLB:The First List of Students Applied for Loans 2017/2018


The Higher Education Student Loan Board (HESLB) has said after a high level mortgage application study for the year 2017/2018, the first phase of the 10,196 first-year students who have been credited with loans has been completed.


HESLB CEO, Abdul-Razaq Badru in public statement released today on Wednesday, October 18, 2013, Sh34.6 billion has been allocated for the 10,196 students.

She said in total Sh108.8 billion will be issued to 30,000 students of the first year for the year 2017/2018.


Badru has said the first phase list is available on the Credit Board website http://www.heslb.go.tz/ and will be sent to the relevant universities.


He said other lists (batches) will follow according to the order of justification and the analysis is complete.


"The goal is to provide the names of all who have succeeded in getting a loan before college opened at the end of October 2017," he said.


The executive director said the list of 10,196 students was found after receiving and analyzing the first phase of the names of 32,495 graduate students in one college.

"It will be remembered that one of the main credentials of the loan is the applicant to get a qualification at a higher education institution recognized by the Government," he said.



  He said students who received a qualification in one college and who have the credentials of credit, will be credited after choosing and confirming the college they will join for the study.


At the same time, Badru said they are expected to start exporting student mortgage loans to graduates who have successfully completed their examinations from Wednesday, October 18, 2017.

Sh318.6 billion will be provided to 93,295 students continuing to study for 2017/2018.

"The government has already taken the money and the purpose of the Board is to ensure that they arrive at the university before the opening of colleges to withdraw pupils discomfort," he said.


The Board has urged credit applicants to be patient while completing the preparation of the following list of credit providers.
