Orkeeswa School is looking for a hard-working, creative and passionate artist and educator to lead our art program at Orkeeswa School in Tanzania.
At Orkeeswa School, we highly value creativity and work to expose our students to a variety of opportunities allowing them to explore their curiosity and find their passion.
Orkeeswa School’s Art Program consists of the visual arts, film and photography, music, drama and creative writing. In 2016-2017, we made a significant investment in our Arts Program by creating a dedicated studio space on campus equipped with high-quality resources and materials, offering more consistent art workshops to our students and building an Arts Curriculum. Our students are incredibly creative and passionate about their work as artists. We are looking for a full-time Art Teacher to support their growth and continue the development of our arts curriculum. The Art Teacher role entails:
- Teaching regular Visual Art workshops
- Working with individual students to develop their practice
- Contributing to the development of our Art Curriculum
- Managing Orkeeswa's Art Studio and Materials
- Overseeing Orkeeswa's Music and Drama programs
- Be flexible, empathetic, open-minded and resilient.
- Take risks, experiment and be creative.
- Work well within a team.
- Communicate effectively under pressure.
