Mzumbe
University in collaboration with Belgian Flemish Interuniversity Council -
University Development Cooperation (VLIR – UOS) is implementing a six year
programme dubbed “Governance and Entrepreneurship through
research,
education, access and Technologies for Tanzania”. The programme focuses on
building capacity in teaching, research, and outreach services cum community
engagement. Good governance and entrepreneurship are the main themes of
development interventions with ICT as a transversal component. Now the Project
invites suitably qualified applicants for the following position:
Post
Title: Driver Grade I
Duty
Station: Main Campus, Mzumbe
Reports
to: Programme Coordinator
Main Duties
and Responsibilities
•
Drives
IUC/VLIR-UOS vehicle,
•
Maintains logbooks,
•
Responsible for safe-keeping of the vehicle and tools
entrusted to him/her Maintains disciplined behaviour and proper conduct in
rendering services to his/her assignees,
•
Maintains
cleanliness of the vehicle and tools,
•
Reports promptly any defect or problems detected in the
vehicle,
•
Performs messengerial duties such as dispatching
documents/letters, collecting mail, photocopying of documents,
•
Performs any other duties as may be assigned by superior.
Experience
and Qualifications required
•
Holder of Form IV/VI Secondary Education with passes in
Kiswahili and English. He/she must have a valid Driving Licence,
•
He/she must be in a possession of Trade Test Grade
I/Drivers Grade I certificate from NIT or VETA,
•
Have
at least three years working experience in a similar position,
•
He/she must be fluent in English.
Tenure
and remuneration
This is a one year renewable contract on satisfactory
performance.
An attractive salary will be offered to the selected
applicant.
(a) Qualification and Experience
Holder of Master degree in a specific utilitarian territory with no less than a GPA of 4.0. Also, the applicant must have a base GPA of 3.8 in first degree and evaluated as conceivably great scholastically.
(b) Duties:
• Conducting addresses;
• Preparing contextual investigations;
• To coach junior staff in significant fields
• To take part/contribute in educational modules advancement;
• To complete consultancy and group administrations;
• To regulate field practicals, undergrad exceptional tasks;
(c) Areas of Specialization:
• Industrial Engineering Management/Mechanical Engineering/Production Engineering/Engineering Management/Production and Operations Management
(d) Salary Scale: PUTS 2.1
