UCC is hereby inviting applications from suitable qualified candidates to immediately fill in the following vacant positions currently existing in the company.
1. POSITION: FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION MANAGER
Work Station: Dar es Salaam
Reports to: Deputy Managing Director
Job Summary
To oversee all aspects of financial, administration and human resources management and ensure that UCC’s policies and procedures are effectively implemented and complied with. Provide strategic support to UCC Board and Executive Management.
Duties and responsibilities
(i) Oversee all finance and accounting functions including budgeting; asset management; cash flow management; payroll management; financial variance and accounts analysis.
(ii) Oversee all aspects of human resource management for all employees
(iii) Assist in the development of current and long‐term organizational plan as well as policies and procedures for UCC operations.
(iv) Ensure internal financial and administrative procedures are compatible with prevailing laws of UCC and the Country.
(v) Ensure that procurement and administration policies and procedures are adhered to.
(vi) Performs any other duties assigned by one’s reporting authority
Qualifications and Experiences
A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Commerce or Business Administration or Equivalent.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA), ACCA, CIMA or equivalent.
An MBA is an added advantage
Excellent computer skills with expertise in Power point, Word, Excel and Outlook
Hand‐on use of a variety of accounting software packages such as Tally,
A minimum of 5 years of working experience in senior financial management
2. POSITION: HUMAN RESOURCE OFFICER
Work Station: Dar es Salaam
Reports to: Finance & Administration Manager
Duties and responsibilities:
(i) Handling Human Resource Management matters in the area of deployment i.e. recruitment, selection, placement, transfer, leave, training and development;
(ii) Provision of guidance and advice on human resource matters within established policies, rules and regulations;
(iii) Assists in Organizing and directing, staffing, compensation, staff development and staff relations services in accordance with the approved policies.
(iv) Assists in developing and implementing programmes and methods to document the company administrative and personnel policies and informs employees accordingly,
(v) Assists in providing advisory service to senior officers at the company on all HR matters and administration.
(vi) Performs any other duties assigned by one’s reporting authority
Qualifications & Experience
Holder of Bachelor Degree in Human Resource Management or equivalent.
At least three years experience from a reputable firm
Excellent interpersonal skills
He/she should be able to maintain ethical standard at work
Excellent public relation and team building
3. POSITION: SENIOR SOFTWARE DEVELOPER
Work Station: Dar es Salaam
Duties and responsibilities
(i) Participation in software product definition, including business case or gap analysis
(ii) Work with team members to design innovative software programs that improve and simplify customer experience
(iii) Coding, unit testing, and integration testing
(iv) Debug complex issues found in production between multiple systems or services
(v) Design fault tolerant, redundant systems that are highly available
(vi) Leverage modern best practices such as Test Driven Development and Continuous Integration to deliver early and often
(vii) Participate in and help lead various agile ceremony meetings (Sprint Planning, Stand-up, Pair-Programming, Code Reviews, Retrospective, etc.)
(viii) Coach other members of the team on technology and best practices
Minimum Qualifications
BSc or MSc in Computer Science or computer related field
Expertise in multiple modern programming languages across multiple platforms and systems (Java, Python, PHP, C#, Ruby, etc.)
Comfortable with full development stack (e.g. UX, Web, API, Business Logic, database).
Expert knowledge in Scrum and/or other agile development methodologies
Experience in a mixed operating system environment (Windows, Linux)
Five or more years of industry experience
4. POSITION: SENIOR SYSTEMS ANALYST
Work Station: Dar es Salaam
Duties and responsibilities
(i) Systems analysis. Takes responsibility for understanding client requirements, collecting data, delivering analysis and problem resolution. Identifies, evaluates and recommends options, implementing if required. Collaborates with, and facilitates stakeholder groups, as part of formal or informal consultancy agreements. Seeks to fully address client needs, enhancing the capabilities and effectiveness of client personnel, by ensuring that proposed solutions are properly understood and appropriately exploited.
(ii) Systems design. Specifies and designs large or complex systems. Selects appropriate design standards, methods and tools, consistent with agreed enterprise and solution architectures and ensures they are applied effectively. Reviews others' systems designs to ensure selection of appropriate technology, efficient use of resources, and integration of multiple systems and technology. Contributes to policy for selection of architecture components. Evaluates and undertakes impact
analysis on major design options and assesses and manages associated risks. Ensures that the system design balances functional, service quality, security and systems management requirements.
(iii) Programming/ software development. Designs, codes , tests, corrects and documents complex programs and scripts from agreed specifications, and subsequent iterations, using agreed standards and tools, to achieve a wellengineered result. Takes part in reviews of own work and leads reviews of colleagues' work.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field
Strong portfolio demonstrating your systems analysis and design skills
Expert knowledge of Microsoft .NET, ASP.NET MVC, C#, relational databases SQL Server 2012, and PHP and MVC frameworks(Yii/Yii2 will be an added advantage)
Strong analytical, problem solving, and decision making skills.
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Effective and proven to move projects forward on a schedule with minimal direct supervision.
Five or more years of industry experience
5. POSITION: ASSISTANT SUPPLIES OFFICER
Work Station: Dar es Salaam
Duties and responsibilities
(i) Assists in the analysis of purchasing equipment and undertakes subsequent purchasing process of approved requisitions.
(ii) Carrying out reconciliation of physical stocks against records.
(iii) Ensures efficient stock control levels are maintained (Inventory Analysis and Control).
(iv) Maintain a log of all deliveries received in Stores and/or Goods Inwards, which have not been ordered via the approved ordering system and liaise with addressee to arrange delivery/collection and ensuring goods are signed for by the recipient.
(v) Plan and co-ordinate the incoming goods, storage and dispatch of items in a timely and efficient manner to achieve your team objectives and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), as determined by the Supplies Officer.
(vi) Ensure effective, safe, accurate and timely stock management to include space allocation, stock transfer and dealing with non-confirming product.
(vii) Be responsible for ensuring that the quality of the product and service within the store is maintained at the highest possible standards for the customer.
(viii) Performs any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by one’s reporting officer.
Qualifications & Experience
Holder of Diploma in Materials Management, CSP (T), IPS (UK) or equivalent
Three years of relevant working experience in a similar position
Must have been registered with NBMM/PSPTB as Approved Supplies Officers/Stock Verifiers
6. POSITION: SALES AND MARKETING EXECUTIVE
Work Station: Dar es Salaam
Duties and responsibilities
(i) Developing the marketing strategy for the training department in line with company objectives.
(ii) Planning and implementing marketing campaigns and working with the Branch Operations Manager to see them executed within timescale.
(iii) Overseeing the training department marketing budget.
(iv) Creation and publication of all marketing material in line with marketing plans.
(v) Contributing to the annual sales and marketing plan.
(vi) Evaluating the effectiveness of all marketing activity.
(vii) Developing and implementing an internal marketing programme
(viii) Performs any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by one’s reporting officer.
Qualifications & Experience
Holder of a Degree in Marketing or Commerce, Business Administration or Economics or equivalent with bias in Marketing
Excellent computer skills with expertise in Power point, Word, Excel and Outlook
A minimum of 3 years experience in similar position in a reputable company Remuneration: Attractive.
