Job Description
A quantity surveyor will manage all costs relating to building and civil engineering projects, from the initial calculations to the final figures. They'll seek to minimise the costs of a project and enhance value for money, while still achieving the required standards and quality.
Job Role :
Price/forecast the cost of the different materials needed for the project.
Prepare tender documents, contracts, budgets, bills of quantities and other documentation.
Track changes to the design and/or construction work and adjusting budget projections accordingly.
Procure or agree the services of contractors and/or subcontractors who work on the construction of the project.
Measure and value the work done on site.
Site supervision, Check development is according to GFC.
Select and/or source construction materials.
Desired Candidate Profile
You will need to have:
A practical and logical mind and a methodical way of thinking.
A creative and innovative approach to problem solving.
Strong numeracy and financial management skills and the ability to learn sophisticated design and costing it packages.
The ability to write clear and precise reports and to relate complex information in a simple way to a diverse range of people.
Negotiation and team work skills and the ability to motivate and lead those on site.
Detailed knowledge of past and current building and construction technology, processes, materials, business and legal matters
