Experience of working in Low resource settings
Preference is given to those who have background experience in industrial operations or vocational training experience. Education background on international qualifications like City and Guilds or any other will be added advantage

TRAINING ADVISER MOTOR VEHICLE 2 POST(LINDI&MTWARA)
Role overview
The Volunteer will work collaboratively with teachers under the motor vehicle mechanics workshop within VETA (Vocational Education and Training Authority) in Mtwara and Lindi to improve the standards of the motor vehicle workshop. She/he will also support other advisors within the project on delivery of project objectives.

Essential
Degree and/ Diploma in Vocational training or QTS certification with particular experience in motor vehicle mechanics.
Have at least two years experience in vocational training
Experience in repair and maintenance of both light and heavy vehicles with use of diagnostic digital system to detect faults.
Desirable
Good organizational and interpersonal skills
Experience of working in a developing country.
Experience in working with poor communities and community institution.
Preference is given to an applicant with background on industrial complex and vocational training experience. Also education background on international qualifications like City and Guilds or any other recognized will highly be considered.
RESEARCH M&E ADVISER
Role overview
In this role the Research Monitoring and Evaluation volunteer will work closely with the Research, Monitoring and Evaluation Manager and Monitoring and Evaluation Coordinator to conduct baseline survey for the Volunteers for Development Project (VfD). The research volunteer’s specific tasks will directly contribute to monitoring and evaluating the VSO projects, through various baseline data collection on interventions and analysis. This analysis will show the benchmark of the VSO projects and help to realistic target basing on the evidence obtained during the baseline exercise. The information will advise the project for future direction of strategy implementation. If you are an excellent RM&E and you want to share your skills to contribute to better programming intervention, this is your job!
Skills, qualifications and experience
Essential:
• Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Social Science, or related field;
• 1-3 years’ experience in M&E;
• Experience in managing research projects;
• Experience in management of data either in development organization or government or private company/ firm;
• Experience in training and mentoring others;
• Data analysis skills;
• Ability develop and use ODK platform in data collection;
• Strong interpersonal skills;
• Excellent management skills;
• Good communication skills;
• Fluent in English;
• Knowledgeable of challenges of working in Africa.
Desirable:
The ideal candidate must be a team player with good social and interpersonal skills and networking abilities. S/he should be able to handle conflicts in a constructive, consultative way.
Allowance and accommodation
All volunteers have an allowance paid in local currency. The allowance meets reasonable living expenses in country, but will not be enough to send money home.
VSO works with some of the poorest communities in the world which means accommodation varies and will be basic.
