Job Description
Main purpose of the Job:
  • Will have overall responsibility of managing, planning, and directing the processing of meat and processed meat products.
  • Will manage the production of meat products safely and consistently within quality specifications and price parameters.
  • Will control the activities of the meat processing team members to meet production needs and ensure efficient operation of their assigned area of responsibility.
  • Will continual interaction with abattoir, sales team and suppliers.

Required Knowledge and Skills

  • Qualified butcher/block man or similar qualification
  • Minimum of 8-10 experience in meat processing, abattoir and butchery practices, of which at least 3 years is at supervisory level
  • Proven people management skills
  • Detailed knowledge about applicable international standards in food health, safety, and quality management practices.
  • High degree of computer numeracy and literacy
