PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The IT Director I role is responsible for managing and maintaining global IT processes and standards relevant to their area. This position manages multiple IT processes within one functional area and provides IT services to one or more regions globally.
Individuals within the IT leadership job family have responsibility for activities that contribute to planning, creating and implementing an IT vision and strategy aligned with the company’s strategic business plan. They oversee the development of corporate standards, technology architecture, technology evaluation and transfer. They manage small to large teams of people responsible for developing and delivering IT solutions for the business and customers. Each role within this job family provides technical and business leadership to their organizations as well as to the business.
IT Leaders are also responsible for analyzing trends in technology, assessing the impact of emerging technologies on the business, providing solutions to address technology and business issues, and managing financial resources while ensuring the development of high-quality technology solutions. These solutions must be developed at the best possible cost and be aligned with customer and business needs while establishing relationships with employees and key internal and external stakeholders. They are also responsible for participating and leading the development of an IT governance framework that defines the working relationships and sharing of IT components among various IT groups within the organization.
To be successful, individuals must possess a combination of business, technical and leadership skills and competencies. This requires an understanding of client’s business needs, processes and functions. They also need a solid knowledge of IT infrastructure, architecture, applications development and support, networks, and computer operations. In addition, individuals working in this job family must have excellent communication skills and the ability to influence others.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Business & IT Strategy:
Develops the tactical components and strategies to achieve goals at an enterprise level.
Works with business partners to understand business needs.
Manages the development and implementation of IT initiatives to support business strategy.
Change Management:
Articulates change.
Is active and visible throughout the change process.
Provides frequent, communication to department/organization and clients about the change (i.e., rationale, expected outcomes, the "big” picture) and the impact of the change (individual and business).
Builds a coalition of sponsorship (managers, staff and clients) and manages resistance to the change.
Identifies and removes obstacles to change.
Governance:
Leads or participates in a customer advisory board to manage IT services demand.
Communicates client’s needs and priorities and provides feedback on pricing and investment.
Architecture:
Provides input to technology planning within multiple functional areas.
Implements solutions consistent with current and future architecture.
Process Improvements:
Manages the improvement processes that impact customer satisfaction and relationships.
Owns the designated processes and is accountable for ensuring that established processes are followed.
Finance:
Participates in the development of IT budgets.
Tracks and takes appropriate steps to stay within budget.
Provides high-quality services at optimal cost to customers.
Measures service performance and implements improvements.
IT Technology Development:
Directs the development and implementation of technology solutions required to increase business efficiency and effectiveness.
Service Level Agreements (SLAs):
Participates and provides input to the SLA development process.
Ensures internal SLAs are met.
Vendor Management:
Provides advice and counsel to the vendor relationship decision-making and contract development processes.
Reviews service provider performance.
Identifies and confirms performance problems and notifies contract managers.
Resource Management:
Meets regularly with team to gather work statuses.
Discusses work progress and obstacles.
Provides advice, guidance, encouragement and constructive feedback.
Ensures work, information, ideas, and technology flow freely across teams.
Establishes measurable individual and team objectives that are aligned with business and organizational goals.
Documents and presents performance assessments.
Recognizes and rewards associates commensurate with performance.
Implements organizational practices for staffing, EEO, diversity, performance management, development, reward and recognition, and retention.
Workforce Planning:
Identifies the roles, skills and knowledge required to achieve goals.
Ensures staff has the resources and skills needed to support all work initiatives within a limited number of COCs or functions.
Participates in IT workforce deployment activities.
KNOWLEDGE,SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Required:
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience.
Requires experience in managing teams and building relationships with people at a variety of levels.
Typically has 10 to 15 years of IT and business/industry work experience, with knowledge of one process/service.
Requires demonstrated ability to launch and deliver one or more IT project(s) on time and within budget.
Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally, as necessary.
Effective in written and verbal communication in English.
Preferred:
CoBIT aware.
Ability to summarize and translate complex technical terms and capabilities into laymen terms.
A minimum of 3+ years managing high performance information security teams.
Work Environment:
The position requires ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 25% of the time.

Purpose of the position:
The Senior Communications Officer –supports the management communication function in keeping the World Vision employees at every level connected, informed on positive developments in the organization and supports the process of explaining and building shared understanding of the mission and vision of World Vision Tanzania. He/she is responsible for managing, developing products and tools facilitating channels of communication that promote information sharing and learning. The incumbent is also responsible for maintaining, updating and promoting the World Vision Tanzania website to internal and external audiences, especially donors. He/she will also develop and disseminate key communications resources for marketing, public awareness and management of emergencies.
The position is further responsible for supporting planning, development and delivery of World Vision communications strategy. He/she will oversee implementation of the communications brand policy for external and internal publics. Effective development of communications resources for external audiences, in the form of print publications and videos comprise one of the key roles. He/she will build capacity of key staff to improve effective communication within the organization. The incumbent is also responsible for promoting public visibility of the organization as well as building relations with media. This position will report to the Communications Manager.
The Senior Communications Officer will collaborate with:
The ND’s office.
Senior Leadership Team, Department Heads and Managers.
Area Development Program Block Leaders and Cluster Team Leaders.
The incumbent will also observe the mission and core values of World Vision and demonstrate a quality of spiritual life that is an example to others.
Major Responsibilities
Support development and roll-out of the internal and external communications framework, clearly identifying the messages, stakeholders, and channels of communications with a clear work-plan and budget to guide implementation.
Promote positive visibility within media channels, protect the image and reputation of the organization and build and maintain relationships with the media. Also provide support to visits of international media and other groups to WVT project sites.
Support generation of content for internal and external publications including: staff newsletter; annual report production, fact-sheets, capacity statements, calendars, diaries, Intranet, WVCentral platforms and Connections.
Reinforce strong brand presence and ensure application and consistency of WVI communications brand policy across all internal and external products and materials.
Develop resources as part of documentation (i.e. impact stories, videos and photos) to share on Support Office platforms, WVT intranet and website and for all staff usage.
Build capacity of WVT non-communicators in: story-telling, video capturing, photo-taking; and provide support to roll-out Sponsorship 2.0 and Community Introductory Videos for an enhanced donor experience.
Create content, update and maintain the WVT organizational website as a marketing platform for donor audiences. Also develop and maintain a photo database with an effective storage system.
Produce emergency communications messaging and products (web based situation reports, stories and photos) and ensure internal audiences are informed and updated in a timely manner.
Perform any other tasks as requested by the Communications Manager.
Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience
The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior experience or on-the-job training:
Minimum Qualification required: BA in journalism or communications/public relations from an Accredited University/college.
Experience: Minimum of 4 years working experience part of which in an international context.
Preferred Qualification: Working experience an NGO, journalism or communications/public relations.
Technical skills/Abilities
English language fluency (written and verbal)
Excellent writing skills, with photographic and/or video skills also preferred
Ability to maintain effective working relationships with all levels of staff and public
High level of confidence and confidentiality
Ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines and yet be able to deliver high quality products
Experience in emergency communication and communication for grants acquisition will be an added advantage

Purpose of the position:
To support the National Director (ND) in linking governance, strategic, leadership and operational roles of the WVT National Office (NO)

Major Responsibilities
Strategic Support
Oversee and consolidate monthly reports from the Divisions and ensure that the ND’s performance agreement are implemented and reported.
Support the development of the NO strategy and priority areas, monitor key outcome indicators/timelines for the strategic planning process to ensure timely consolidation and submission of quality ADPs’ and National office operating plans and budgets.
Facilitate the process of budgeting for the National Director’s Office
To ensure that WVT policies and guidelines align with WV partnership policies.
Support the ND to monitor implementation of management development goals and plans.
Support the ND with facilitation of Special projects especially those requiring cross-functional teams who participants are SMT members.
Serve on strategic committees in the NO – Procurement, Risk.
Support to the Governance Function
Board Management
Organize, take Board minutes during meetings and maintain a record of the minutes.
Follow up of the Board resolutions made during the board meetings and ensure that they are implemented in a timely manner.
Organize, facilitate and coordinate the Board Subcommittee meetings to ensure they take place before the full Board meetings.
Compile the Quarterly Ministry Updates for the ND’s review and submission to the WV National Board
Organise Board papers in a timely and accurate manner and ensure that Board members receive adequate information.
Compile and submit the Board Chair’s quarterly report to the WVI President.
Board Development
Organise and facilitate key training sessions for Board members and orientation for new Board members.
Plan and organize Board field trips to WVT project sites to help deepen Board members understanding of WV’s ministry.
Responsible for coordinating WV’s Peer Review, Annual Self Review and Board Review processes and subsequent follow up of recommendations to ensure WVT compliance.
Responsible for implementation of the Board work plans and Board development plans
Responds to all other Board issues and requests.
Ensure Board members are updated and given guidance and access to partnership policies.
Responsible for statutory compliance and completing relevant annual returns for WVT.
Approval Authority
Support the ND by supporting the NO with a signing authority as designated in the approval matrix.
Administrative support
Provide mentorship and supervision to the ND’s Executive Administrative Assistant.
Performance Management
Facilitate performance management review for the ND’s Executive Administrative Assistant.
Support the ND to compile and analyze the performance management reviews of the WVT Leadership team as cascaded from the ND.
Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience
The following qualities are required for the holder of the position, through a combination of formal or self-education, prior experience or ongoing-the-job training:
Minimum Qualification required: First Degree in Law (Preferably Corporate Law) and a Master’s Degree in Law or Business Administration or Community Development will be an added advantage.
Experience: 5 years International NGO experience with 3 years’ experience in governance activities as a Company Secretary

Computer skills
Good planning and organizational skills
Excellent communication skills both English and Kiswahili
Ability to maintain effective working relationships with all levels of staff, WVT Board and other stakeholders.
