St. Joseph University in Tanzania (SJUIT) invites applications from suitable, qualified and experienced Tanzanians to apply for the following vacant positions available at the St Joseph University College of Health Sciences, Boko Dovya, Dar es Salaam.
Teaching Staff Positions
  1. Professors (5 Post)
  • Requirement as for Associate Professor plus Publications which, on assessment, Produce 12 points.
  • Teaching, research and public service experience of not less than three years on attaining the qualifications of Associate Professor.
  1. Associate Professors (5Post)
  • Requirements for Senior Lecturer plus Publications which, on assessment, produce 7 points.
  • Teaching, research and public service experience of not less than three years on attaining the qualifications of Senior Lecturer.
  1. Senior Lecturers (10 Post)
  • Requirements for Lecturer plus Publications which on assessment, produce 5 points.
  • Teaching research and public service experience of not less than three years on attaining the qualifications of Lecturer
  1. Lecturers (10 post)
  • Requirements as for Assistant Lecturer and PhD degree with a Master degree at 4.0 GPA, OF
  • Where the PhD was obtained on upgrading a Master Degree, then requirements as for Tutorial Assistant and a PhD degree in the relevant subject.
  • Where the PhD was obtained on the basis of the Master degree without a Bachelor Degree, then requirements as for Assistant Lecturer and PhD Degree from a TCU recognized University.
  • Master of Medicine (MMed) degree or its equivalent in the relevant subject with a minimum GPA of 4.0 from a TCU recognized University.
  1. Assistant Lecturers (10 Post)
  • Bachelor degree with GPA of 3.5 or B+ average and a Master Degree in the relevant subject with a GPA of 4.0, or
  • Where the Master degree is the first degree, then a Master degree with a GPA of 4.0 from a TCU recognized University.
  1. Tutorial Assistants (7 posts)
  • Bachelor Degree (First or Upper Second Class) with minimum GPA of 3.5 or a B+ grade in the relevant subject for unclassified degree, or
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree with minimum GPA of 3.5 from TCU recognized University.
  1. Nurse Tutors 8 (Posts)
  • Ordinary Diploma in Nursing with Advanced Diploma in Nursing Education from a NACTE recognized institution.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSc Nursing) with a minimum GPA of 3.0 from a TCU recognized University.
  1. Pharmacy Tutors (10 posts)
  • Ordinary Diploma in Pharmaceutical Sciences or Advanced Diploma in Pharmaceutical Sciences from a NACTE recognized institution.
  • Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) with a minimum GPA of 3.0 from a TCU recognized University.
Technical Staff Positions
  1. Medical Laboratory Technicians/Health Laboratory Technologists (4 POST)
  • Qualifications: Diploma/Advanced Diploma/Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Sciences or Medical Laboratory Technology degree from a NACTUTCU recognized institution.
  1. Senior Prosector/Prosector(1)
  • Qualifications: Diploma/Advanced Diploma in Prosection from a TCUINACTE recognized institution.
  1. Pharmaceutical Assistants/Pharmaceutical
  • Qualifications: Technician’s Certificate in Pharmaceutical Sciences NTA Level 5
  1. Assistant Nursing Officers (1)
  • Qualifications: Ordinary Diploma in Nursing NTA 6.

  1. Anatomy (1 post), Biochemistry (1 post), Pathology (1 posts), Pharmacology (3 posts), Parasitology and Medical Entomology (post), Physiology (1), Community Medicine (2 posts), Epidemiology and Biostatistics and Demography (5 posts), Behavioral Sciences (1 posts), and ICT (1 posts)

Qualifying candidates are encouraged to submit their applications accompanied with a recent photograph, photocopies of certificates of degree awards, academic transcripts, curriculum vitae, birth certificate with names of three referees together with their contact addresses and any other relevant documents portraying their competences in the field.
